Caveau
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Caveau (“the app”, “we”) is a wine cellar management app. This policy explains what
data the app handles and how. The short version: your cellar is yours, we don't sell
data, and we collect the minimum needed to run the app.
What we collect
- Account data. On first launch you get an anonymous guest account.
If you sign in (email, Apple, or Google), we store your email address and name so your
cellar can sync across devices.
- Cellar data. The bottles, tasting notes, drinking logs, and audit
records you create. Stored in our database (Supabase, hosted in the United States) and
visible only to you.
- Label photos. When you scan a wine label, the photo is sent to
Anthropic's Claude API to read the label text, then discarded. Photos are not stored on
our servers and are not used to train AI models.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not show ads or use third-party ad tracking.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (label reading, drinking-window
and pairing suggestions), Apple (subscriptions and sign-in), and Expo (app builds and
delivery). Each receives only what it needs to provide its service.
Notifications
Drinking-window alerts are optional, scheduled on your device, and can be turned off
any time in Settings.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete my account permanently erases your account and every bottle, note,
and log attached to it. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
